General Infra

Mentorship

  • Mentors shall identify specific needs at specific time like prototyping/design vendors, small-scale manufacturing vendors, large-scale manufacturing vendors etc. and makes best efforts to connect the start-ups with such ecosystem players.
  • Full-time onsite experienced application engineering team.
  • Technical and Business Mentoring by Chief Mentor
  • Train/educate start-ups in the fields of research, user experience and business technology courses with cutting edge programming and deep-tech applications.
  • Support the start-ups for developing Proof of Concept, provide mentoring for designing & development and help start-ups to convert their idea into a reality.
  • Transforming the start-ups from idea level to Prototype level, Prototype level to MVP (Minimum Viable Product) level, MVP level to GTM level and graduating the start-ups into full-fledged company status.
  • Providing a multidisciplinary approach in developing innovative products based on identified business challenges.
  • Support for developing, enhancing and piloting start-ups prototype and business model in a collaborative environment.
  • Conducting needs-based mentoring sessions on legal, compliance, branding, cyber security, tech etc.

Marketing

  • Beneficiary incubatees of IoT OpenLab shall be included in marketing knowledge sessions, road shows, networking events, social media outreach.
  • International events/programs shall be organized to attract global visibility.
  • IoT OpenLab’s end-to-end marketing plan will place your start-up on the global map.
  • Partnerships with key international promotional agencies shall be carried out for cross border collaboration.

Monitoring

  • IoT OpenLab shall monitor and guide start-ups through dedicated Chief Mentor and support team
  • IoT OpenLab shall review and monitor the progress/performance of start-ups periodically and take necessary action as and when required in co-ordination with PMG and GC

Funding and Investment

  • CoE shall support and guide start-ups for raising funds towards PoC, MVP and Marketing as well as scaling up through grants, equity and debt by leveraging networking with VC/Funding agencies and CSR/Corporate sources as well as angels, High Net worth Individuals (HNIs) and VCs as per appropriate size of start-ups.

Additional Services

  • STPI has signed MoU with M/s NRDC (National Research and Development Corporation) for filing Intellectual Property Rights such as Patenting (Drafting & Filing), Trademark, Copyright and any other IPR related support/legal/statutory support.

IoT OpenLab Infra

  • Complete access to IoT OpenLab Equipment, Tools and Sample Bank of Electronics.

WHO CAN APPLY

Category A- Start-ups applying for Complete Package (CP) Model

The start-up must be incorporated as a

  • Private Limited Company (as defined in the Companies Act, 2013) or
  • Registered Partnership Firm (Regd. under section 59 of the Partnership Act, 1932) or
  • Limited Liability Partnership (under the Liability Partnership Act 2008)

The date of registration/incorporation must not be beyond 10 years.

Annual Turnover

Start-up should have an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 100 crore for any of the financial years since its incorporation.

Original Entity

Entity should not have been formed by splitting up or reconstructing an already existing business.

Innovative & Scalable

Entity working towards innovation, development or improvement of products, processes or services or if it is a scalable business model with high potential of employment generation or wealth creation.

Category B- Start-ups applying for Associate Membership (AM) MODEL

Any IoT start-up who would like to use  T & M equipment, tools, sample bank of electronics can fill up the Form B for registration.

    Terms & Conditions

    • Start-ups can walk into the CoE to get access to infrastructure and Services
    • Each start-up have to book the time slot in advance
    • Each start-up have to pay one time Registration Charges of Rs 10,000 , which is valid upto Jan 2025. Start-ups under CP model have to share 3% equity with STPI as per the present valuation.
    • The start-up who wish to avail STPI physical incubation space may approach STPI. The allocation, charges and T&C shall be as per STPI Incubation norms
    • Any specific sample /component required by start-up, which is not in the list of the sample bank of electronics shall be arranged by start-up themselves

    Category C – Students applying for Internship Model

    Internship: – Internship will be for team of 4-5 students who are still part of the academic institution (preferably final year) and who are interested to develop the product or proof of concept with the help of STPI IoT Open Lab.
    Eligibility: – Indian students from recognized academic institutes and pursuing: – E/B. Tech/M. E/M. Tech (ECE, EEE, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering and related circuit branches) and M.C.A.
    Duration :- 3- 6 months.
    Place of Internship: – STPI IoT Open lab, Bangalore.
    Prerequisites: –

    • Interested and eligible students need to apply in prescribed format (FORM-C) with all required details.
    • Recommendation letter from Academic institution where the team of students (along with Project/Internship supervisor) are currently enrolled. Recommendation letter must be approved and signed by Head of the Institution.
    • Copy of AADHAR Card, Passport size photo with signature in digital format (all students and faculty supervisor)
    • Profile of Faculty Supervisor and students.
    • List of Technical equipments/infrastructure (Tentative) required for the proposed concept.

    Certificate of Internship: – Certificate for the completion of internship may be issued after evaluation of the project and submission of the report.

    Category D- Company applying for Technology led Industries MODEL

    Any IoT company  who would like to use  T & M equipment, tools, sample bank of electronics can fill up the Form D for registration.
